When it was still a developer instead of a production company, Oddworld Inhabitants rose to prominence with its first games, a pair of side-scrolling adventures in the mold of Out of this World and Flashback. Those games, 1997's Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee and 1998's Oddworld: Abe's Exodus, were two of the original PlayStation's most distinctive exclusive offerings.

With no signs of a sequel on the way, Oddworld fans will have to settle for the original Abe saga.
With no signs of a sequel on the way, Oddworld fans will have to settle for the original Abe saga.

Oddworld is hoping its classics still stand out from the crowd, as the company announced it is releasing both of Abe's original adventures on the PlayStation Network this Thursday. Like other original PlayStation titles on the downloadable game service, Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exodus will be playable on both the PlayStation 3 and the PSP.

However, the games will arrive with a slightly higher than average price tag. Where most original PlayStation games on the service sell for $5.99, Sony will charge $9.99 for each of the Oddworld titles. PC gamers looking to save some change can already grab the games from Valve's Steam store for $7.49 separately, or $9.99 together.
