Comments

Destiny 2's newest raid, Salvation's Edge, is now live for The Final Shape owners. Surprisingly, players are able to dive into this event much sooner than previously anticipated. Here's a look at everything we know so far about the pinnacle PvE activity, including the items that will be disabled for the World First race, Twitch Drops, and more.

Attempts to be the first team to beat the Salvation's Edge are now on. Numerous streamers are broadcasting, and you can also watch through the Twitch Rivals embed below.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape Raid release date and time

The Final Shape raid officially launched on June 7, 2024 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. This is a lot earlier when compared to previous raid release dates, as Bungie typically launches one of these activities a full week and a half after an expansion is released. This date gave you just three days to get ready, a challenging prospect as The Final Shape will introduce the Prismatic subclass and a new faction to battle inside of the Traveler, the Dread.

As seen in the trailer, players will climb the Monolith tower inside the Pale Heart for a final showdown against the Witness.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape Raid power cap and entry requirement

With the race to be the world's first fireteam to complete the raid starting on June 7, players will need to be at 1965 power level to be at the cap through all of the encounters. Additionally, The Final Shape campaign and the Wild Card Exotic quest must be completed to launch the raid, but only the fireteam leader must meet this requirement.

Bungie has confirmed that surges will not be active during Contest mode. It also says it's heard feedback about surges in raids and dungeons generally, though it isn't prepared to announce any other changes yet.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape Raid completion requirement

Contest mode will be enabled for the first 48 hours of the raid, and in a big change this year, Fireteams will no longer be required to return to orbit to finish the race. Bungie says the first fireteam to finish every encounter and loot the final chest will be declared World First, pending an analytics check by the studio to validate the run. Bungie will also do a thorough security review afterward to ensure that the winning fireteam didn't cheat.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape Raid story details

Bungie has confirmed that The Witness will be the final boss and defeating it in Salvation's Edge will conclude the story of The Final Shape. "For non-raiders there will be an opportunity for everyone to experience the conclusion sometime after the raid," Bungie said in a Reddit post.

"The Final Shape expansion is different: the additional content in the Pale Heart post-campaign and unlocking the raid for everyone is important for getting a cohesive and satisfying story experience."

As you'd expect, given these details, Bungie has warned that the raid contains spoilers for those who haven't completed The Final Shape campaign.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape Raid rewards

Bungie hasn't revealed the rewards available for this event yet, but if it follows the tradition of previous raids, you can expect exclusive weapons, armor, and Exotics from completing runs of the raid.

Completing the raid before June 25 will give players the chance to purchase a new raid jacket and a slingbag. This has been a tradition for several years now in Destiny 2, and this year's jacket features gold piping accents, a reflective silk panel on the front, and customizable tags.

We also know the emblems that will be available. By completing the raid on Contest Mode, you'll get the Hunker Down emblem, while finishing any version of the raid gets you the Edification emblem.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape raid - How to access

Like The Final Shape, the raid is a paid piece of content in Destiny 2. It can be accessed by purchasing the expansion.

World First Disabled Items

As per usual, there will be multiple items disabled for the raid's first few days. From launch until June 11, none of the following will be effective (meaning you might be able to equip them, but they won't function):

Armor

  • Lucky Pants

Perks

  • Cascade Point
  • Magnificent Howl

Fragments

  • Facet of Command

In the case of Facet of Command, that will be re-enabled sooner than the rest; that will be back on June 9 once Contest Mode ends.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape Raid clan updates

There'll be several quality-of-life updates in The Final Shape, including improvements designed to reinvigorate the clan system in Destiny 2. Hawthorne will be receiving a vendor reputation track and Guardians can earn clan reputation by completing activities. Clan bounties are also getting overhauled, and there will be two new bounty types available--one for seasonal content and one for dungeons--and all clan bounties will also grant some clan reputation. For established teams, it could be worth paying a visit to Hawthorne to stack up on bounties before the venture into the raid.

Additionally, clan perks are being refreshed, and players will get discounted Raid Banners, Exotic engrams, and more each week when they do a fresh raid run.
